Matschinsky-Denninghoff | Genesis

The steel sculptures by the sculptor couple Brigitte Denninghoff (born 1923 in Berlin) and Martin Matschinsky (born 1921 in Grötzingen) shape the landscape of numerous cities and, thanks to their clearly recognizable material and formal characteristics, create a comprehensive aesthetic network. In their work, organic, plant-like processes are thematically juxtaposed with technoid design. “Genesis,” made of welded chromium-nickel steel tubes, was installed in the state capital as part of the “Stahl 1” exhibition (Galerie kö 24). The then-IG Chemie, the City of Hanover, and the State of Lower Saxony advocated for its preservation at this location. » Location: Königsworther Platz (near the IG BCE building)
